Get Space closed on the sale of its Hillsboro & 15th (H15) facility on November 24, 2015 for $10,000,000 to an undisclosed buyer. The 4.6 acre property consists of 603 units and 28 parking spaces spread over 65,000 rentable square feet. This premier Get Space facility only opened in June of 2015, five short months ago! The quick turnaround time for this facility's sale is a fantastic indicator of the young company's success!
Even in its infancy, H15 saw great success as its units filled up 70% in 3 months. Residents of Bethany, Beaverton, Portland, Forest Grove, Cedar Mill, and Aloha were eager to make use of the clean new facility, with the first customer arriving bright and early opening day.
H15 was managed by Extra Space Storage and will continue to bear that name through this ownership transition. While it is not expected that all Get Space locations will be routinely sold, this sale will be pivotal in allowing Get Space to continue to expand and pursue new projects. According to co-founder Benjamin Bradley, "It's a bittersweet day. We hate to say 'good bye' to our very first facility, but we are so proud of how much we have grown in such a short time."
