Even in Randomness, We Prefer Mathematically-Generated

We've always been fascinated by what's possible through the use and manipulation of data through mathematical means, even when it comes to our building materials.

In order to position our Portland & Columbia (PCOL) project appropriately along Columbia Boulevard's strikingly diverse character, we designed a shapely simple facility with the anticipation of the giving the building skin extra life.

Here's a sneak peak:

In order the generate the random pattern, we again enlisted an algorithm. Curious what it looks like?  See below.

And zoomed in over the particular parameters.

Sounds neat right?! Well, early next Spring 2017 we'll start to see the actual materials being installed. For now, we'll have to imagine with the samples we were given.

Get Space Begins Construction on Second Portland, OR, Self Storage

Construction has begun--not a moment too soon--on Get Space's Portland & Columbia site. Portland & Columbia (lovingly known as PCOL) is one of Get Space's largest projects to date, weighing in at just over 100,000 square feet of ground-up development. A project of this scale requires lots of planning and design work before soil is ever turned, as evidenced by the huge stacks of permit drawings sent to the city in late 2015 for routine review. Happily, progress on Get Space PCOL has continued at a quick clip, thanks in part to the contributions of contractor Perlo Construction.

Portland & Columbia is located in the heart of industrial northeast Portland, next door to Portland International Airport. This location is easy to access from both I-5 and I-205, which is convenient for neighbors throughout Alberta, Maywood Park, Beaumont - Wilshire, Piedmont, and Alameda. The facility is slated to open in late 2016.

Get Space believes that self storage doesn't have to be complicated. While self storage is inherently built around utility, Get Space mixes it with a little simplicity and beauty to achieve amazing results. Focused in the Pacific Northwest initially, Get Space is developing multiple new facilities with a systematic development approach not seen in self storage development before.
